Concepts

Concepts and Treatment

In our group, we had three concepts that were presented to the class. All three of the group's pitches were presented to the class and then a vote was held to pick the final idea, based on the plot, choice of sub genre and locations/characters. Feedback was given in order to show the good points of each of our pitches, as well as the improvements.

Feedback for concepts

The Devolved
Pros- The concept had a solid sub genre and good iconography in relation to zombie trailers. The locations, such as abandoned and desolate buildings fits in with the idea of zombies.

Improvements- There maybe needed to be more detail in the plot and narrative, as well as a clearer idea of the five key scenes.

Killerween

Pros- The idea and locations are well thought out and fit the sub genre of slasher. The iconography of the penetrative weapon fits in with the sub genre and the plot is well established.

Cons- The five key scenes could be clearer and would make the narrative easier to follow.

The Blind Spot

Pros- The concept and plot are extremely well thought out and developed, and fit perfectly into the supernatural sub-genre. The iconography of writing on the skin is a good convention of the sub-genre.

Improvements- Perhaps a little out there in terms of plot - conforms to the conventions, but could be difficult to label it under a sub-genre.

The final idea that was chosen from the votes was 'The Blind Spot'.
