Influences for the final poster

We took the influences for our final magazine cover from existing magazine covers that were related to the genre of horror we were looking at. Most of them had similar conventions; an off centre main image with short and sharp cover lines and/or pictures on the left third. This is the magazine cover that we took most inspiration from for our magazine cover. 

Our colour scheme, however, was different and encorporated the blues, greys, whites and blacks that we also used in the editing of our trailer and film poster. We eventually decided on having our magazine cover with a slightly different image to the poster, focusing more on the antagonist as that's what most the magazines we looked at had also done. Here are some shots that we took before editing. 

We took the shots from different angles before editing, to see which angle would most suit the smoke we used being edited into the shot. However, the magazines we looked at for influence also used mid close ups and so we had to manipulate the images to this to submit to the convention. 

There were many stages of our magazine cover and here are some of the in between stages during the production of it.
