1) Burton, Neale, Metz, Altman, Chandler

2) Female victim, final girl, setting; graveyard, abandoned house etc, lighting; dark to no lighting, protagonist, antagonist, camera; canted angles and close ups, props/iconography; knives, masks, use of the colours red and black, costume; dark, ripped,

3) Conventions are used by audiences in order for them to recognise the horror genre easily, as they are seen throughout the (sub)genre, for example, a zombie film would have makeup effects, ripped/torn clothing and the actors would be walking slowly.

4) Conventions are use by the producers to make their films easily recognisable to the audience, as well as using them to be able to develop on, to create a new idea for the target audience.

5) A sub genre is a division of a certain genre.

6) Slasher, zombie, j-horror, supernatural, psychological

7) A hybrid genre is when two different genres are spliced together.e.g horror and comedy.

8) Shawn Of The Dead (comedy/horror)

Metz- own trailer- aimed for classical stage in order to help the audience easily recognise the genre e.g iconography (red blood), however, became revisionist as we used the conventions already created and were able to embellish them. Applies to an extent, as our trailer does not conform to a certain stage,

Altman- visceral/emotional/intellectual- our trailer would come under the visceral category as we aimed to produce a gut reaction to the horror, creating fear in the audience(e.g jump cuts and the use of blood). However, this theory does not apply fully to our trailer as our research showed that although the audience recognised it as horror, there was a lack of gut fear in relation to the editing and content.
